October 13, 2009 (RALEIGH, NC) – To celebrate her first anniversary of doing business, Lather Hair Salon owner and senior stylist Jessica Williams is discounting all products and salon services by 20 percent from October 26 through the 31st.

“We want to show our gratitude to regular and new clients by giving back to them as we mark one year in business,” Williams said. “Everybody loves saving, especially in this economy, so we couldn’t of a better way to say ‘thanks’ than slashing all prices during our anniversary week.”

Williams opened Lather Hair Salon opened in October of 2008 on Glenwood North at 8521 Cantilever Way, billing her new business as “an upscale salon with no attitudes.” Since then, she has been building a team of talented, experienced stylists and steadily increasing her client base.

“I’m very pleased with how far we’ve come since last October,” she said. “I’ve got a great staff now that just keeps getting better through the continuing education opportunities we attend and a steady flow of clients, many of which have become regulars.”

To complement Lather’s in-salon expertise, Williams also launched a blog, entitled Hair Academy 101, which offers do-it-yourself tips, techniques, and hair care advice. Lather’s Facebook “Fan Page” also maintains contact with current and potential clients and features frequent day-of discounts for the salons fans.

This past summer, Williams introduced “Latherwear,” starting with logo tees that sold out and followed this fall by equally popular brown and blue “hoodies” emblazoned with the Lather logo. “Latherwear” recently caught the attention of Salon Today magazine’s editor Stacey Soble, who published an article on Williams’ marketing innovation in its online edition on September 24.

Williams has also been busy asserting Lather Hair Salon into the Raleigh community by participating in a number of community outreach projects, from a St. Baldrich’s  cut-a-thon last fall to participating in the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation’s PinkFest ’09 held recently in the Renaissance Hotel at North Hills. This December, Lather will help sponsor Habitat for Humanity of Wake County’s annual Homes Tour via a Habitat Cut-A-Thon in the salon in November.
